Violent Fourth of July in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE--Five shootings left two dead in Milwaukee on Saturday, July 4th, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
A 31-year-old male was shot outside a residence in the 8100 block of W. Glen St. that was hosting a large party, around 11:15 p.m., Saturday evening. He later died from his wounds at a local hospital. A 23-year-old male was shot in the 700 block of S. 22nd around 10:50 p.m., he died at the scene.
Two other shootings happened before night fall, with one victim suffereing a very serious wound after being shot in the 5100 block of N. 76th St. around 4:45 p.m.
One victim, a 22-year-old Milwaukee man was approached by to unknown people in the 3100 block of N. 12th around 5 p.m. and shot. He was then taken to the hospital by a passerby and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A 24-year-old Milwaukee man, who was walking in the area of W. Vliet near Washington Park, told the MPD that he heard gunshots and realized that he ahd been shot. He was able to get himself to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
